Using nearly 800 selfies from the residents of Clare, Michigan, I created a 5' x 5' composite
portrait that I then turned into a mosaic with the submitted images. After that, I had the image
made into 6" x 6" high fire porcelain tiles that were installed within the community in an
area referred to as "Art Alley." With stability guaranteed for 100 years, this legacy piece
will allow the community to refer to the depicted participants for decades to come.
"Clare Community Portrait" was unveiled on 20 August, 2015.
